Minutes from 1/11/17

  • Monthly Police Report by Lt. Anthony “Pappy” Papaleo: Overall crime is down, Violent crime is also down. Motor vehicle crime is Up 35%-- on average three a day. Thieves are looking for anything in cars and are now resorting to breaking windows to get items. Manchester residents are advised to always keep cars locked and report ANY break ins right away. If you see a crime in progress please do not engage, but call 911 immediately.
  • The Manchester Alliance will be meeting on 1/13/18 to develop goals for the new year that will be shared at the next meeting.

Minutes from 12/14/17

  • Monthly Police Report: Relatively low crime. A few motor vehicle break in over the last 28 days. One motor vehicle theft.
  • Manchester has been assigned a new police officer Lt. Anthony “Pappy” Papaleo. Contact info (804)646-3602.
  • Many alliance members are concerned with vehicles speeding through Manchester. Mainly Hull, Bainbridge, and Commerce.
  • Commonwealth Catholic Charities has applied for a special use permit to convert the Sacred Heart Catholic Church’s vacant elementary school to a temporary emergency homeless shelter.
  • Shelter would be activated when temperature drops below 40 degrees with wind chill. Shelter opens at 7:00 pm and closes at 8:00am.
  • Daily Planet also helps with homeless needs in RVA. Members are encouraged to contact Crystal Rivera with concerns. 783 0678 ext 263
